I started with Blue Host's basic package about 3 years ago and than slowly upgraded to a shared package, now  I have 2 dedicated servers with them. Blue Host’s up time - in my opinion, is the best around. With in the 3 years I've been with them, I've only had my site go down twice. And that's not all, the best part about Blue Host is their customer support. If you've ever dealt with the customer support from an inexpensive web host, you probably know what a nightmare it can be. Blue Host's customer support is completely different, With Blue Host the tech does not get off the phone with you until your problem is resolved - a rare thing in the web host customer support world. That, combined with amazing uptime make Blue Host my personal "Top Choice".

Overview:

This is the first web host I signed up for. Midphase runs a very solid program with great up time and they use my personal favorite control panel - the c-panel.  We've been using a shared package with them for 4 years now and with in that time we have had very few problems. However, with the few problems we did have, I can not say Midphase has the best customer support. Their tech guys are not very knowledgeable and the problem was rarely resolved over the phone. It is usually passed on to another tech, then a solution is sent via email - usually wrong.  However if you are looking for a another option to Host Gator and don't mind bad customer support Midphase is a great.

Overview:
I've only been using Host Gator for about 7 months now and don't feel I have enough experience with them to recommend them as my second choice. However, with in the 7 months I've been with Host Gator, everything has gone very smoothly. I've had no problems with up time, and only had to call customer support once. However, when I did call them their was very little hold time and my problem was resolved very quickly over the phone which is rare with less expensive web hosting customer support. Host Gator is a top notch hosting company that is worth checking out.
